Masha Gurina Tango dancer London

Marsha is an authentic professional Tango dancer, based in London

She is a performer, teacher and a choreographer of a versatile background which includes Argentine tango, contemporary dance and art film. She started her dance training at the age of 5 as a figure skater in her native Kiev. Since then, she has been trained in ballet, contemporary and folklore, and recently graduated from LABAN, a world famous centre for the training of professional contemporary dance artists.

Masha started dancing Argentine tango more than 10 years ago. She studied with some of the world's finest dancers such as Lorena Ermocida and Aurora Lubiz, as well as dancers of the next generation, including Vanina Iurisci y Lautaro Cancela (the lead dancers of West End show Tango por Dos) and Cecilia Saja, a star of Forever Tango on Broadway. In spring 2008, Masha featured as a guest lead dancer in Subitango, a tango show accompanied by live music by Tango Siempre, UK's leading tango ensemble. Over the past few years, she has also been invited to teach at some of London's leading venues (Carablanca and Corrientes tango clubs) and performed in many tango venues and high-profile events around the UK and all over Europe, including Tango Apasionado International Festival and The Lord Mayor's Thames Festival.

In 2012 she danced in the Olympics opening ceremony, broadcast to many millions around the world.

Masha is currently engaged in a variety of projects involving performing, choreographing and directing. Her works have been selected to be shown in international choreographers' platforms (such as ProArt Festival in Prague), and she has been invited to teach across the UK and internationally.
